Harney & Sons Holiday Tea
Tasting and Inns Tour
December 4- 6 2009

Henniker House will be joining our friends from Granite State Vacations to welcome the season.  Bring your gift list because the weekend begins on Friday December 4th with special shopping hours for our guests at "From House too Home", "Upstairs at Daniels and "Henniker Riverside Artisans" - a short stroll down Main Street from Henniker House.  You can enjoy dinner at one of our local favorite restaurants - Daniels - with a discount voucher from Henniker House.

The package includes two tickets for the Harney Holiday Tea Tasting & Inns Tour which will be held in 8 local inns from 11:00 to 4:00 on both Saturday and Sunday.  Your first stop on Saturday will include an informative tea tasting with John or Mike Harney before you set off to the inns where you'll enjoy a nibble and a cuppa'.  Save a few inns for Sunday before you head home with your holiday shopping done!

In addition to two tea tour tickets the package includes lodging for two people for two nights, a full breakfast in our solarium overlooking the Contoocook River each morning and a special gift from your innkeeper. Best available room at time of booking;  Front or Canopy rooms for the package price of $275 (double occupancy) plus NH rooms & meals tax or the River, Pear or Balcony rooms for the package price of $350 (double occupancy) plus NH rooms & meals tax.  The tea tour ticket proceeds benefit the NH Food Bank.

There's nothing better than being outdoors and there's no better way to spend time outdoors in the winter than skiing with family and friends. Pats Peak is less than 3 miles from Henniker House and Phil is their unofficial ambassador.

Mid-week skiing is some of the best; the mountain is not as crowded and you can ski 2 days and sleep 3 nights starting at $150 per person double occupancy. Weekend ski & stay packages are also available with lift tickets at up to a 35% discount.

We love handcrafts and have hosted creative folks who attend courses at The Fiber Studio and Quilted Threads. Please mention the course you’re attending when you book for the applicable discount.

"Henniker is the international meeting place for quilters from Norway & Australia"

A couple of quilting goddesses, who frequent the Strip Club at Quilted Threads, have booked the whole house for a weekend a couple of times now. Do you have a group who would like to do the same?

March Maple Madness

Maple sugar - Nature's reward for enduring New Hampshire's winter.  The Indians called it 'sinzibukwud'.  In colonial times there was a plan to make America self-sufficient in sugar production by using maple sugar.  You can see maple syrup made the old-fashioned way and taste some treats when you come to Henniker House during March Maple weekend.  2010 dates to be announced. Our weekend package includes a mapped, self guided tour of neighboring sugar houses, a pint of maple syrup and an optional weather dependant sleigh ride (fee paid directly to provider).  The guide also includes suggestions for antiquing, art galleries and shopping, and areas for snow shoeing and X-C skiing.  Discount lift tickets for Pats Peak's are also an optional add on.

Children are welcome in family rooms.  Little girls especially will love the doll collection at Winnie's Little World at the Allen Acres Maple Grove farm - exclusive provider of maple syrup to Henniker House. Call now for best availability!

Hillsborough Area Artisans
Faire in June and Studio
Tour in September

On the second weekend in June, enjoy small town charm in a sophisticated setting as you take in the “Spring Into Summer Faire” in the historic old Hillsborough Center. Admission is free and juried artists and artisans abound.  Henniker House is a sponsor of this event and welcomes guests with Friday evening hors d’oeuvres.  Also included in your two night package will be hearty country breakfasts both mornings, directions to the Faire, a dinner discount to Daniel’s restaurant, and an optional self guided tour of Hillsborough’s old stone bridges, antique shops and the Franklin Pierce Homestead.  Rates start at $220 plus tax for two people sharing the Canopy room.

The Artisans end the summer with a studio tour on the third weekend in September.  Twenty artists open their studios and invite you to see where their art is created.  From weavers to potters to glass blowers and jewelry makers, you can see them as you travel on some of New Hampshire's prettiest country lanes.  Again, Henniker House invites you to start the weekend with Friday evening hors d’oeuvres.  Also included in your two night package will be hearty country breakfasts both mornings, a map to the studios (with the stone bridges marked) and a dinner discount to Daniel’s restaurant.  Rates start at $220 plus tax for two people sharing the Canopy room.
